It’s been too long!
Hello again! Yes, I’m back! And as I am finding social media quite depressing, I’m going to try to be better at keeping you all up to date here! So what have I done in the past 10 months?! Well, not a lot of sailing unfortunately. I’ve had a bad knee since an accident in 2023. After various diagnoses and an unbelievable amount of Physio, I had surgery in May... Unfortunately, that made things worse, and in August I couldn’t even bend my bad knee without it locking. Not really conducive to sailing, and being responsible for other people’s lives through my body’s maneuverability, strength and agility…. Luckily there is some good news: after getting a new (amazing) physiotherapist and a new diagnosis (thanks Eleanor for referral and Lisa Green for being THE BEST Physio therapist on the planet), and working hard on even more Physio, I can now do single-leg-squats and as of today; I’m cleared to start running (starting with 1 minute 🤣). I have been running most days for 43 years. Can’t even begin to describe how excited I am! I also held my first online class today: weather forecasting. I think it went well! Now I’m going to go back to the books and try to take the celestial navigation test finally! Oh, and I got my first piece published in a sailing magazine. So I guess some things have happened, even though I haven’t been able to sail?’
