Day 10

Yesterday was a pleasant sail day with perfect wind and waves. We continued to celebrate half way with Rum (one for Neptune, as is required) and Winds continues to be strong and building: gust of 28 and wave surf of 12 recorded. And we’re climbing up (yes from near bottom) in leaderboard. Hydrogenerator broke but is actually now working better than before the Macgyvering. Sail tear not getting worse. Weird noise from the stern while sleeping made me wonder if I should sleep with more clothes on even though it’s so hot-what do you want to wear in a life raft…? But everything looks ok so I fell asleep again. And then James discovered / heard the rattling of a screw rolling around at the bottom of and inside the mast, when he was doing his chafe check round. Couldn’t figure out what it’s from. Hoping nothing vital - waves are very big and disorganized it would be very risky to go up in the mast top so regardless it’ll have to wait until we’re docked.  Food options are getting slimmer: Arkyla doesn’t have a freezer and only a small refrigerator so we are now on cans and dried food. A bit depressing. Esp since I’m still not getting near the quantity or quality of coffee I’m used to. But I found a stash of peanut m&ms last night!!
