Last sail

We ended up touring Lanzarote yesterday. Nice to be a normal tourist for a couple of hours, and nice to stop being a normal tourist after a couple of hours. The photo is from the northern tip, overlooking La Graciosa, where we had hope to an hot but you need to apply in person for a permit 10 days in advance... Anyway, seeing it and how windy and rolly it was even though on a lee shore, we were glad we didn’t get it!

Today we are getting ready for our last sail: 15-20 hours west to Las Palmas, leaving this afternoon. Dreading it a bit: don’t want it to be my last sail, not looking forward to undocking in 25 knots, and not looking forward to passing through of the The Canaries’ infamous WAZ (wind acceleration zones) between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, or the 30+ knots of wind tomorrow the marina office talks about (our forecasts “only” show 25…). BUT to cheer me up: found Bilar in the marina store!! That and coffee will be something to look forward to on my night watch!
