Orcas…!

So there are more Orca attacks close to where we are going, and some close to the “corner” of Portugal, where we have to head out at the latest… - At one point we have to leave the 20 meter depth contour if we are going to sail to Madeira… But it’s feeling quite uncomfortable, to say the least, knowing we have to sail through where they are attacking sailboats. We thought they’d still be closer to Gibraltar like previous years this time of the year. Darned tunas - why are you already migrating there?! Probably climate change…? As James wrote about in his yachting monthly article on orca attacks last year: staying shallow is the only proven way to avoid being attacked. So now we are discussing what to do IF we are attacked once we head out... Yikes!
