Time warp

Still in Gibraltar! Batteries should arrive tomorrow, be installed on Thursday and then we move to anchorage so that we can leave 5 am on Friday: there is a small window on Friday with favorable current (you can get 6 knot of current in the straight - you want that with you, not against you!!) and wind not 30 knots right on our nose!

So you might be wondering what I’m doing all day long. Well so am I. I’m busy but can’t exactly say with what. There is boat fixing of course. And then socializing with all the interesting people drawn to cruising: professional race car driver, someone spending months in various African prisons, around the world sailors dodging pirates, etc. and that’s just the last couple of days. But then there is also the fact that everything takes so long onboard. Just going to the bathroom adds 10+ minutes of having to walk to the marina bathrooms. Cooking takes at least twice a long as excavating tools and ingredients require deep dives into compartments, and then all equipment is a compromise. Grocery shopping in new supermarket on the electric scooter different than going to Whole Foods with a Toyota Highlander, etc. But so far it’s more fun than frustrating, as it feels part of the cruising experience. But I am looking forward to do some (orca free) sailing Friday.
