Day 3

Winds still too low for Arkyla to sail properly. She is a heavy boat and isn’t any lighter now full of food, fuel, water and people. Trying not to miss the parasailer too much, but it would have been perfect right now, adding significant boat speed plus allowing us to go on a straight course to where we are going rather than zigzag - which matters when you are sailing 2200 miles…. Trying to remind myself and anyone who will listen that we have beautiful weather, kind waves (to be in the middle of the Atlantic), plenty of food and water and are going where we want to more or less. And not look at the race listings…. And how many miles we have left to go. Right now we are at 1913z. Mark had an excellent insight: we racing to the birth of Christ. (We started at 2000+ miles and finish at zero). So regularly we look at how many miles we have left and try to remember what happened that year. It’s quite hard! 1924 anyone?  Project for the afternoon is to bake “Lisa’s kladdkaka” - the world’s best brownie. Oh! Sailing: had sunset and sunrise watches last night. 😍. Beautiful!
